almost 3 months later....

I figured I should post something since it's been awhile. Here are some more sneaky pics:

Or maybe not. I can't get my phone to send them.

Does anyone know how to turn on the bluetooth on a Mac?

Warning: This post has a gory picture and gory details!
If you have a queasy stomach stop reading.

I'm taking human anatomy and I'm soooo excited! Want to know why? Cause the U has a killer cadaver lab! (hahaha wow I'm punny and I didn't even mean to be) Pretty soon this will be me:
Dissecting humans has got to be pretty much the best idea ever to help people understand the human body. I mean look how much you can learn about these muscles by taking off the skin:

And soon that girl will be me: (minus the 80's hair and scrunchy, but I'll probably keep the shirt)

Names names names

So while at work I call people, it's great. I've notice as of late that I come across a lot of cool names. Try these out for size:

Connie McCool (I wish my last name were McCool)
Ralphine
Bob Beskovoyne (I didn't try to pronounce his name when I called, just asked for Bob)
Hardie Phipps
Linwood
Dorell
Rosaria
Myrijam (pronounced Miriam)
Bienvenido (doesn't that mean welcome in spanish? his parents named him welcome?)
Mirela
Robbin (that's not an unusual name except for the fact that this Robbin is a guy)
Sherron (for "Sharon")
Jaycie ("J.C.")
Dorinda
Fran (again a guy)
Shon ("Sean")
BrAnda (yes she spells it with a capital "A")
Fumie
Gerd

I just think they're weird. Any comments on them?

Also, you need to read this all too hilarious column by Doug Robinson of the Deseret Morning News:

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705305107/Doug-Robinson-Time-for-some-rules-on-names.html

All this makes me think, when and where do we draw the line? I love my name (Sica), and it is unusual, but I don't think it's an extreme. Right?

Work, Allergies, and The Fact That My Co-Workers Forget What They Know About Me

So I go to work...here is my desk:Pretty nice eh? Anyways...when it was one of my co-worker's birthday, two others in our department bought her a cake and we celebrated, it was great. I'm allergic to nuts so when they offered me a piece of cake, I had to ask what was in it. We checked the label and I was all set to eat it. My co-workers were curious about my allergy so we talked about it for a little while and they were all appalled at the fact that I couldn't have nuts. However, the cake was delicious. Then, about a month ago the co-worker whose birthday we celebrated brought some cookies into work and gave me one, before I could ask what was in it, she took off to give others some cookies. When she came back, she assumed I had eaten the cookie, (but with my allergy I could seriously die so I wasn't quite prepared to risk it). She then offered me some more cookies and at this point I asked her what was in it. She matter of factly replied, "Oatmeal, sugar, flour, almonds, coconut, a whole bunch of nuts." Here's my thought "You trying to kill me?!" Then I had no idea what to do with the cookie, I felt like it was too late to give it back, but I couldn't eat it and I couldn't put it in the garbage can as we share one, so here is my desk when the keyboard is moved. Yep, that's the cookie, it's been there for a month.

People watching

I'll be honest, I am a self-confirmed people watcher. Everywhere I go I enjoy watching people: what they're wearing, their appearance, how they act and so on. Occasionally I take pictures of the quirky people I see. (I sneak them, I know, creepy right?) I just pull out my phone and inconspicuously take a picture while I pretend to text a friend or just look at my phone. Here are some pictures I have taken that I enjoy.

This kid had penguin pajama pants on underneath his jeans.....ok......

I like this lady's mullet.
And again. The guy on the left reminds me of the paintings of Jesus.

Mostly I just like this guy's hat and stache.

A cowboy waiting at the bus stop.

I was just wondering what was in this guy's cooler and I liked his ponytail.

Bingham Basketball, I just liked their pants.

Lame-o.

So I just checked my final grade for my advanced first aid course, and I was .5% from an A. I got a 94.5% for an A- and an A is 95%. Frustrating.
